Tasmanian Professional Portrait Photographer of the Year 2010

Posted April 21st, 2010 by Jon

The Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) has announced the Tasmania’s best professional photographers at a special awards ceremony held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Launceston.

The Epson AIPP Tasmanian awards received numerous entries recognising the state’s top professional photographers.  Entries were individually critiqued and scored via a scrupulous peer-review judging process to determine the highest-scoring prints across the different categories.  The judging process was undertaken by some of Australia’s best photographers.

The Epson AIPP Tasmanian entries were judged in categories covering specialised forms of professional photography including General, Portrait, Wedding, Wedding Album, Highest Scoring Print overall and Highest Scoring Print Emerging or Student Member photography. The coveted awards acknowledged the high level of professional photography found across Australia’s beautiful island state.

I was honoured to receive the award of  Tasmanian Professional Portrait Photographer of the Year as well as runner up in the wedding album category. Below is a selection of some of my award winning images.

Hi there Jon and family,

My wife and I had a look at your website. Glorious! We wish your latest venture every success in the year and years to come.

I especially like the rock-effect in ‘fineart07′ (in Expressions). The photo succeeds in transporting the viewer to the river-side: it is like you are really there. Nice!

Cheers,

Simon and Shanna
